Update on phishing attempt

Yesterday, the Commission reported that it had become aware of a phishing attempt sent to some of its licensees – see news item here. An email purporting to be from a member of the Commission’s staff was sent from the domain guernseyfsc.com. Since becoming aware of the matter, the Commission reported the link to websites designed to submit known and suspected phishing links to major internet service providers. If any licensees who received the fraudulent email went on to click the link and enter credentials, they should seek advice from their IT department or IT provider.

If a licensee receives an email purporting to be from the Commission and they are unsure of its authenticity, please contact the Commission through any of the communication channels published on the Commission’s website. The Commission only sends email from the gfsc.gg domain.
