Risk Warning Regarding Cloned Website

The Guernsey Financial Services Commission has become aware that a website has been established cloning the Commission’s own website (The GFSREA – Guernsey Financial Services and Regulatory Enforcement Authority – www.gfsrea.org). The Commission’s website domain is www.gfsc.gg

The Guernsey Financial Services and Regulatory Enforcement Authority’s website appears to closely resemble the Commission’s own website. The entity referred to on www.gfsrea.org is in no way associated with the activities of the Guernsey Financial Services Commission and care should be taken not to confuse the two. Licensees and members of the public are asked not to visit the website, nor to click on any links contained in it. If you think that you have been approached by the cloned entity, please contact your usual supervisory contact at the Commission or email [email protected]

Firms are reminded of the guidance available to them in the Commission’s Cyber Rules and Guidance, 2021 and in particular the need to ensure the Firm:

·and its staff exercise caution and vigilance by not clicking on or opening unfamiliar links in emails;

·has appropriate cyber security software in place;

·implements IT systems updates in a timely manner;

·notifies the Commission if it is subject to a significant cyber security event.
