Discussion paper on the future of sustainability reporting in the Bailiwick of Guernsey

30th October 2024

On 30 July 2024, the Commission issued a Discussion Paper on the Future of Sustainability Reporting in the Bailiwick of Guernsey. The consultation period ran for approximately 12 weeks and closed on 25 October 2024.

The Commission is very pleased to have received a material number of responses from a broad range of stakeholders including licensees, industry representative bodies and other on and off island industry participants. The Commission is grateful for the responses received and the positive engagement it has received to date. The Commission would like to reiterate that, as noted in the Discussion Paper, in considering a move to sustainable reporting, it is mindful any adoption must be proportionate for the Bailiwick. It is not intended to apply a regime requiring standards beyond the scope or scale of that adopted by our international peers.

Given the importance of the subject, the Commission is giving all the comments and suggestions received thorough consideration with a view to issuing feedback next year.
