Alice Joy
Alice joined the Commission in March 2014. As Commission Secretary, she supports the work of the Commission by advising the Chairman, Director General and board on matters of corporate governance, overseeing the Commission’s Senior Decision Makers who are appointed to determine enforcement cases, coordinating the Commission’s liaison and consultation with government, industry and other key stakeholders as well as leading and developing the Commission’s policy and approach to human resources and data protection. Before becoming a Director at the Commission, Alice spent seven years in the Fiduciary Division of the Commission where she assisted in the embedding of PRISM for the supervision of trust and corporate service providers.
Prior to joining the Commission, Alice worked in London at a charity providing legal advice to disabled people, and at a firm specialising in the fields of community care and education law. Alice is a graduate of the University of Exeter and completed the Graduate Diploma in Law and Legal Practice Course at the College of Law, London.
Alice is a member of the Guernsey Employment and Discrimination Tribunal and a member of the Office of the Data Protection Authority's guidance advisory panel.
